History
For nearly 60 years Arvig has had our roots deeply embedded in the utility business. Our company was founded on the entrepreneurial spirit of Royale B. Arvig. From the start, as a small independent telephone company, we have taken an aggressive approach to growth and innovation within the telecommunications industry. The leaders of our team have been involved in the planning, construction and maintenance of nearly 8000 miles of copper, coaxial and fiber optic cable, the vast majority being underground. Great pride is taken in building high quality product, using the most innovative techniques available. Equally so, we strive to provide the highest level of customer service possible, both within our organization and for our customers.

Safety is Top Priority
Safety is considered a vital aspect of every job performed by Arvig, which is why all of our employees receive extensive and thorough safety training, follow strict safety procedures and are provided with all necessary personal protective equipment and instruction. Our safety program has been developed to assure compliance with federal, state and local regulations with particular emphasis on the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
F-T-T-H (Fiber to the home) - Arvig has the unique distinction of having built and operated the very first F-T-T-H network in the United States of this innovative technology nearly 15 years ago. We have since built many such systems for our own companies, as well as for several other telecommunications providers.
Conduit/Duct Systems - Arvig has extensive experience in building conduit bank systems, tying manholes and handholes together with conduit and duct. We have built duct banks with as many as twenty-four, 4" conduits.
Splicing With a crew of 5 dedicated splicers, we can take care of all your copper, coaxial, fiber and power cable splicing.
Underground Construction - We can accommodate either a direct burial method, by means of vibratory or static plows, as well as open trenching. With this being the predominant mode of construction these days, Arvig has placed thousands of miles of underground copper, fiber, coax, electric, gas, water and sewer lines. We work on individual projects smaller than 1000 ft. and in excess of 100 miles of underground plant.
Aerial Construction - While the majority of the work we perform is underground, we do have an aerial crew, capable of building a turn-key copper, cable or coaxial system.
Directional Boring - ACS currently has 8 dedicated directional boring crews capable of boring a single water line into a house, or completing a 1500 ft. bore to a cabin on an island, to a 10" sewer line placed under a sidewalk.
